karen 5 In general I love the Tombow Irojiten colored pencil. I have at least a few pencils if not the full sets of almost every colored pencil out there. These would come in number two, if not tied for number one with the Faber Castell Polychomos. I like them better than either the Caran d'AChe Luminance or Pablo. They are far superior to the Derwent lines or the Prismacolor lines. I now have the full set of Holbeins and if I didn't have the Irojitens to work with the Holbeins, I doubt I would like them as well! Why? They hold a point, are great for detail work, blend absolutely wonderfully and have a full range of colors in the 90 piece set. With the addition of these 10 pencils, the set of 90 is extended further. While I thought the 90 shades sufficient, I admit to loving the extra 10!I am not sure why the Irojitens don't have more postive reviews and demos. They are highly undervalued by artists on YouTube videos. I like the clean white barrel with color name, etc imprinted upon it. Each pencil has an end cap dyed to match the color of the lead. This set of 10 is a great way to try out the brand before investing in the entire 90 pencil set. The 10 new pencils are also included in the 36 color Encyclopedia which is new to the line. That also is an exceptional product. Like most Japanese made pencils the cases are unique.
